Wow. It’s April already. How did that happen? I’m definitely not complaining - my morning walks have been warmer, and the golden daffodil and forsythia show is only outdone by the radiant warmth of the returning sun. When we’re not in the midst of a week long deluge, that is…
Here are a few updates on what’s been going on in the pottery studio lately:
The plate saga continues…
My only regret with it being April already is that I was not able to begin offering the dinnerware I so long to bring to your tables. I had hoped for a 4/1 launch date, but I am delayed yet again, this time due to a back order on the necessary kiln furniture needed to fire plates. I’d love to make a video explaining some of this one day, because I’m sure to the non-potter that last sentence made no sense at all! Plates and bowls are still coming, and we can be certain that at the very least they will be available at some time in the near future of 2024.
A new chapter with Brick & Mortar
I have begun taking wholesale orders, which means some of my designs will now be popping up in a variety of unique small businesses that have been crafted just as lovingly as my pots. It’s a partnership I am enjoying very much, and it excites me to know that I might be discovered by lovely new people in places I have never even been to!
Gift’s Inn Boonsboro collaboration
Have you stopped to visit Gifts Inn Boonsboro? It’s tucked into a brightly painted historic facade, right across from Stonewerks (if you’re in Boonsboro I know you know this beloved town staple for sweets and coffee). Inside, you will find an absolute hoard of treasures by artisans both local and afar. I dare you to go in and not be tempted to buy something! Gifts Inn is one of the first shops who started carrying my pottery, and you can still find a revolving collection of my pieces there all year long. This year, we have teamed up to create a special edition set of mugs to commemorate each of the rooms at the historic Inn Boonsboro which anchors the corner in the square right across the street. I’ll provide more details about these mugs soon, but let’s just say they will appeal to guests at the Inn and book lovers alike.
Farmers Market season is here!
Friday, April 12th marks my first farmers market of the season at Brunswick. I will be returning to Boonsboro for a few markets, and am considering adding some others here and there. As dates become solidified, I will be sure to let everyone know via email and social media.
Moon Mugs & more…
Back by popular demand (for a little while, at least) are my much loved Moon Mugs. I think besides the Mushroom Mugs, these are an all time favorite with my customers. Grab one while they’re here! I forgot how meticulous these are to make, and will not be creating another batch for a while.
Speaking of Mushroom Mugs, they’ll be back soon, too! I have plans for the next batch and will let you all know when they are ready to be gobbled up.
I suppose my last update is a slight tease about an idea that I am brewing involving an abandoned shed and a self-serve pottery stand, but we’ll chat more about that later!
I hope you’re enjoying coming out of hibernation along with all our plants and critters. Maybe I will see you at a local farmers market soon!
Until then,
Jocelyn
