Woodfired Thumb Cup no. 3

These thumb cups are wheel thrown, decorated by hand, then laboriously wood fired for some truly magical effects. Each one bears the marks of the kiln in its own way - soft ash blooms, flame-kissed edges, and subtle color shifts from smoky green to deep rust. Carved with botanical motifs and sized to nestle easily in the hand, no two are exactly alike, but all are made to be held, used, and enjoyed.

Individually handmade on the potters wheel, hand decorated in our Boonsboro, MD studio, then lovingly wood-fired at Sherman Ceramics in Wolfsville, MD.
