Potter Goes Wild Strawberry Pot
- Description
- care & use
Sometimes I just like to play around, and I find that flower pots easily lend themselves to experimentation. This little pot ended up being quite a maximalist! It will be fun to select some choice succulents (or strawberries) to plant it up with.
There is no drainage hole in the bottom of this pot. I recommend filling the bottom 2/3 with well draining potting material and allowing the soil to dry between watering. I like to use orchid potting mix that includes charcoal for the antibacterial properties. Another great choice is old wine corks! Cork has antimicrobial properties.
Strawberry pots can be tricky to water. No matter what I try a bit of soil seems to want to escape from the pockets during watering time. I either carry it to the sink, or outside to water, then make sure the bottom is clean before returning to its spot.
